We want to focus on involving girls and volunteers in this project and will listen to their input as the website develops, so they get what they want at the end of it.
We want the digital tools we provide to leaders and volunteers to be a help rather than a hindrance to their wider Girlguiding activities.
We want to shout about our girls’ achievements, large and small, wherever and whenever they happen to help the movement grow.
Our digital vision
We want to help girls and volunteers:
- communicate with us
- and with each other
- achieve more
- and share those achievements
We want to help volunteers and leaders by:
- providing new digital tools
- freeing up their time with these tools
- streamlining digital communications
- giving them new ways of accessing activities
We want to tell the Girlguiding story:
- authentically, using girls’ own words
- to encourage others to join
- to help the wider world understand us
Why a digital vision?
Without excellent digital communications Girlguiding will lose ground to other organisations. We need to make sure our impact on girls and young women’s lives on the ground is mirrored online, that’s why we’ve invested time and energy in developing a digital vision.
How we will
deliver the vision
Laying the foundations
If we understand our audiences and get our content strategy right, then all else will follow.
A new website and membership system which integrate with each other are at the centre of this project.
To complement the new platforms there will be digital tools to enable campaigning, giving, shopping and learning.
To reach the right people with the right story we need to sharpen how we communicate via our website, email, SMS and social media.
We need to measure what really matters to us as an organisation and tweak it if it’s not working.
To make this digital strategy work we need ways of hearing from people across our organisation.
